Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced earlier this summer it would keep its promise to block news content from Canada on its platforms because of a new law that requires tech giants to pay publishers for linking to or otherwise repurposing their content online.Fires raging in Canada have pushed tens of thousands of people from their homes and threatened cities such as Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories. Denver police investigating death at Cheesman Park DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police officers are investigating an outdoor death at Denver's Cheesman Park.Just after 10 a.m. Monday, the Denver Police Department tweeted about an outdoor death investigation at Cheesman Park located south of east Colfax. The park itself takes up five square blocks within the neighborhood that bears the same name. ‘South Park’ fan Ed Sheeran dines at Casa Bonita during Denver tour stop The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will provide the cause of death and identify the person. At this time, Denver Police have not said whether the death was criminal in nature but would provide an update when more information became available. This was the second outdoor death investigation in Denver on Monday. RTD offers free fare for a year for those 19 and younger DENVER (KDVR) — Beginning in September, Coloradans aged 19 and younger can ride RTD transit for free for a year.Zero Fare for Youth is a one-year pilot program aiming to welcome the next generation of transit users at no cost. The program will run from Sept. 1 through Aug. 21, 2024.The program hopes to remove barriers to education and employment for youth in Colorado. Learn more about the two-story sculpture new to Aurora Highlands DENVER (KDVR) -- A two-story sculpture named "Umi" came to life on Saturday at Hogan Park in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood. Daniel Popper added the interactive exhibit as part of the Art in the Park program. Popper is a South African sculpture artist specializing in large, human-like sculptures made of wood, fiberglass and natural fibers. He focuses on the relationship between humans and nature. Motorcyclist identified, charged in connection with crash that injured pedestrians in Falmouth A 33-year-old man has been arraigned in connection with a motorcycle crash that injured two pedestrians in Falmouth earlier this month, Falmouth police announced on Monday. Police said emergency crews responded to the scene on Main Street around 8:45 p.m. on Monday of last week after receiving a call saying a motorcycle had hit two pedestrians in a crosswalk. Police said emergency crews soon found a husband and wife, both in their 60s, injured in the roadway and transported the couple to area hospitals. The motorcycle operator, according to police, initially pushed his motorcycle off the roadway “and appeared to be waiting for emergency personnel to arrive.” Before police arrived on scene, though, investigators said the man allegedly fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. Police searched for the operator on the night of the crash but were not able to find him. A matter of days later, Falmouth police said they identified the operator as David Eldredge Jr. and sou...
